Skip the crowded hotel strips and head further down the coast for decent sand. The horseback riding tours at dawn or sunset provide the only real reason to visit this stretch of coast. Don't waste your cash on sunbeds near the big resorts; just bring a towel and claim your own patch. If you're bored, the waterfall cruise is cheap enough to tolerate for a few hours. Mostly, just avoid mid-afternoon heat and overpriced beachfront drinks.
