Skip the heat and hit the Fuqua Orchid Center early when it opens. The Canopy Walk is the main event; get those high-angle forest shots before the weekend crowds clog the suspension bridge. Spend two hours here, then bounce to a private cooking class with Chef Naina to actually use the fresh herbs you saw growing. It is way better than the gift shop cafe snacks. Bring a portable fan if visiting in July.
