Skip the basic salt flat selfies and hike the Tunupa trail for an actual perspective on the Salar de Uyuni. The view from 4,500 meters is rugged, wind-swept, and totally worth the lung-burning trek. Most private 3-day tours include this, but check that your guide actually hikes to the viewpoint near the Coquesa mummies. Spend two hours here, bring high-SPF sunscreen, and don't expect a relaxing walk. It is basically a brutal, rewarding uphill climb.
