Drive the switchbacks through Imbros Gorge to reach this seaside fort. The architecture is basic, but the real draw is the isolated beach and the local ghost story about the Drosoulites shadows appearing at dawn in late May. Skip the interior if you're short on cash; the best photos are from the sand outside anyway. Spend an hour exploring the ruins, then hit the shallow turquoise water for a swim. It is quiet, windy, and totally unpretentious.
