Skip the paved city parks and head here for legit rugged hiking. The trails near Lake Wylie offer the best shoreline views without the crowds you find at Freedom Park. Spend at least two hours wandering the Copperhead Island loop or just hanging by the water. Visit on a weekday if you actually want quiet; weekends get packed with families. Definitely pack bug spray and water since there aren't many amenities once you hit the woods.
