Mystic Seaport: 19th-Century Shipyard Life & Historic Vessels

4.5 (334)

Skip the main visitor center and head straight for the Charles W. Morgan, the last wooden whaleship on the planet. Walking the cobblestone streets of the re-created 1800s village feels like a movie set, but the real win is watching the blacksmiths and boatbuilders work in real time. It takes three hours to do it justice. If you’re hungry, don’t eat at the overpriced cafe; grab a sandwich in town instead.
