Skip the main fort if you want some actual solitude. You need a short boat ride from the jetty to reach this stone fortress sitting right in the middle of the Arabian Sea. It takes about an hour to explore the damp, eerie corridors and the tiny mosque inside. Wear decent shoes because the stairs are steep and worn down. Go at low tide for the best perspective of the surrounding reef.
