Head straight for the Anhinga Trail boardwalk to see alligators and turtles lounging in the sawgrass. It is basically an open-air zoo without the glass. If you only have an hour in the Everglades, spend it here. Skip the indoor exhibits and focus on the Gumbo Limbo Trail for actual shade. Pack industrial-strength bug spray and show up before 10am to beat the humidity and the tour bus crowds. It is the park's best wildlife lottery.
