Walk the elevated boardwalk to spot gators, turtles, and herons without getting your shoes muddy. This 3,500-acre wetland is a literal lung for Fort Myers. Skip the midday heat; hit the trail at 8am when the wildlife is actually active and the shadows hit the cypress knees perfectly. Bring bug spray and allow about 90 minutes to loop the whole thing. The Interpretive Center has clean bathrooms and decent AC if you need a breather.
