Drive Route 62 for the weird desert stops, not just the views. Stop at Cango Caves for the Heritage Tour unless you hate tight spaces, then pivot to an ostrich farm in Oudtshoorn for the chaos of it all. Most spots close early, so plan your fuel and snacks by 5pm. Two days is plenty to see the red rock landscapes and grab a milkshake at Diesel and Dust. It is dusty, dry, and oddly cool.
