Skip the crowded castle bus and head straight to the Alpseebad dock for a dip. The water is freezing, but the view of the Hoheschwangau peaks reflecting off the surface makes the cold worth it. Pack a towel and snacks, because you’ll want to hang out here for a few hours. Arrive before 10am to secure a spot on the limited wooden deck area. It is the best spot to escape the tourist mob.
