Skip this if you are over twelve, but the Duke’s Lagoon water play area saves the day during July heatwaves. The Merlin’s Mayhem inverted coaster offers just enough thrills for younger thrill-seekers without the massive lines of major theme parks. Spend four hours here, then head to Lancaster city for actual food, as the park concessions are standard fried fare. Go on a weekday to avoid screaming hordes and actually ride the Kingdom Coaster.
