Split your time between the Inveresk rail yards and the Royal Park gallery. The dinosaurs and the planetarium at Inveresk are the main draw, but the 1800s Guan Di Temple at the art site is the real sleeper hit. Skip the dry historical plaques and head straight for the taxidermy room or the rotating local exhibits. You can do both sites in three hours if you use the free Tiger bus to commute between them.
