As it turns out, this small town is not only known for picturesque waterfalls but also is the capital of Base Jumping, which involves a free fall from cliffs wearing a special suit. Unfortunately, it is one of the most dangerous extreme sports. During our walk through lovely main streets, we may have the chance to see them in action.
Next we will have a little CHEESE and CHOCOLATE DEGUSTATION enjoying a beautiful views.
Next we will take a 5min bus ride to Trümmelbachfalle. This place is a series of impressive waterfalls inside the mountain caves (UNESCO Heritage), where water from melting glaciers flows powerfully through rock crevices at a capacity of 20,000 l/sec - 5,300 gallons/sec. (CLOSED IN WINTER, we will do more sightseeing instead)
The entire trip will allow us to discover Lauterbrunnen from two perspectives – one with idyllic farms, meadows, and wooden houses – but also with impressive forces of nature and community prioritizing extreme sports while living their dream.
