Skip the city center and head straight to Callao for the Palomino Islands speedboat tour. Swimming with wild sea lions is the highlight; don't bother with tours that don't include the wetsuit gear. Spend your afternoon wandering the street art in Callao Monumental or checking out the colonial history at Real Felipe Fortress. It’s gritty, colorful, and feels nothing like Lima’s modern districts. Grab a ceviche at a shack in La Punta when you're done.
