Skip the main pool during midday unless you enjoy elbow-to-elbow swimming. Head straight for the Pipeline Tower slides before the lines peak, or grab a tube for the lazy river. It stays open until 6pm, which is prime time to avoid the worst humidity. Bring your own snacks to eat at the picnic area to save cash. It gets loud and chaotic, but a few hours of water slides beats the Virginia summer heat.
