Don't bother visiting during the sweltering afternoon; the animals are mostly hiding from the heat. Go for the night safari ticket instead to see the Sumatran tigers active and wandering. You only need about two hours to walk the main loop. Skip the overpriced snacks at the gate and bring your own water bottle. It’s a bit dated, but catching a glimpse of the nocturnal wildlife makes the trek worth the effort.
