Forget the fake Dracula traps in Bran; this is where the real Vlad the Impaler actually hung out. You have to commit to 1,480 concrete steps to reach the crumbling ruins at the top. It is a leg-burning hike, so wear decent sneakers and bring water. The view of the Argeș River gorge is wild, but the structure itself is mostly rubble. Give yourself two hours total. Don't bother with expensive tours if you have a rental car.
