Walk through 10,000 years of high-altitude history in about an hour. You won't see the famous mummies anymore—they were removed out of respect for local indigenous groups—but the gold artifacts and pre-Columbian ceramics are elite. It’s small, quiet, and cheap. Go in the late afternoon when the desert heat peaks to appreciate the AC and the massive collection of textiles. Skip the guided tour unless you're a total history nerd; the signage tells the story fine.
