Skip the crowded beaches for El Imposible if you actually want to sweat. Hire a local guide because the trails vanish fast and the terrain is deceptively rugged. The blue swimming holes at the bottom of the ravines make the humidity worth it. Go during the dry season or you're just trudging through knee-deep mud. Spend at least six hours here. Bring solid boots and double your water—the hike out is steeper than it looks.
