Congress Trail: Walking Through the Giant Sequoia Understory
★4.4(130)
Skip the crowded General Sherman loop and push further onto this two-mile paved path to see the House and Senate groups. You get better photos of the massive sequoias without the wall-to-wall selfie crowd. Go at dawn to catch the morning mist filtering through the canopy. If you want deeper context, the Heart of the Giant Forest hike is worth the cash, but the trail itself is free and entirely doable solo. Just bring layers.
