Skip the main bus tour noise and walk the Yesilirmak River banks at sunset. The Pontic King tombs carved into the mountainside look wilder at night when they glow orange. Two hours is enough to wander past the colorful yali mansions and snag some local Amasya apples from street vendors. The steep climb to the tombs is intense but worth the cardio for the city views. Keep your camera ready; it’s genuinely different from standard Turkish ruins.
