Skip the Yangon day trip slog if you can; the overnight Golden Rock private tour is worth the extra cash to actually see the Shwemawdaw Pagoda without rushing. The reclining Buddha at Shwethalyaung is massive, but the humidity will hit you hard. Spend about four hours hitting the major stupas. Don't waste time on the smaller, neglected shrines.
