Get hands-on with a Stimson’s python during the daily 11am or 1pm shows—it is the best way to lose the snake phobia. You will see Terry the saltwater croc through the glass and spot camouflaged thorny devils in the desert park section. Skip the midday heat and spend 90 minutes here before the gift shop. It is a small, low-key spot, but the expert handlers actually know their stuff. Definitely pay the entry fee for the gecko room alone.
