Don't bother with the high-priced day trips from Amsterdam. Just take the tram to the Carnegieplein stop and walk the perimeter. You cannot enter the building without a pre-booked guided slot, which sells out months in advance. The architecture is a flex, but spend your time in the visitor center instead of paying for a tour that barely shows you anything inside. Grab a coffee at a nearby cafe and just appreciate the gate.
