Rock of Cashel: Medieval Ruins & High King History on a Hill
★4.6(5541)
Skip the crowded gift shop and head straight for the 12th-century Cormac’s Chapel frescoes. You only need about an hour to wander the graveyard and look out over the Tipperary plains. The wind rips through these limestone ruins, so bring an actual coat even in July. If you drive, park in the lower town lot to save your legs for the steep walk up. It is essentially a collection of moody, gothic rocks.
