Stop sleeping on Šibenik. Use the city as a base to hike through Krka National Park and stand right next to those massive Skradinski Buk falls. Most people skip the old town, but you should take a historical walking tour to hit St. James Cathedral before booking a boat tour to the Kornati Islands. It's the best way to see the Adriatic without the Split crowds. Grab a drink on the waterfront and actually relax.
